Capitol Village resort Madikeri Coorg review

The name Coorg immediately brings to mind lush greenery and what better way to enjoy it than in the midst of a beautiful plantation? A couple of years ago we did just that, at the Capitol Village Holiday Resort in Madikeri for a hospitable stay in the midst of nature's picturesque settings.

Coffee and pepper are grown among other things in the resort’s fields.

There is also a small lake/pond and flora in all its hues is abundant all over the resort.

You can also walk around the resort along the tracks and enjoy the sight of lush foliage everywhere.

Even dried leaves on the walking paths make a pretty sight!

One thing to note is that the resort is some distance away from the main town and no local public transport is available. Hence, if you wish to visit nearby towns and tourist spots, it is a good idea to contact the resort well in advance of your stay to arrange for a hired vehicle. Keep in mind that hiring a vehicle can be pretty expensive in Coorg! We had no such bother, since we travelled on a group tour package & all arrangements were made for us. Also, the tour operator’s cooks were part of the team & hence we did not eat the food at the resort. There is a dining area in the resort.

The Rooms
The rooms are simply furnished, extremely comfortable and airy. We had read some reviews about lizards and what-not, but rest assured, there were none during our stay. The room and washroom in it were both clean and neat. There is no TV or air-conditioning system. Mosquito netting is provided for the beds.

A colourful touch to the room door!

Overall, we had a really comfortable stay & good service. No complaints!
