A picture-postcard house in the shadow of Songiri Gad (fort) hills with a garden out front, somebody to cook piping hot food (all meals), somebody to do the house chores of sweeping, swabbing, and washing the dishes, somebody to tend to the sun-dappled garden – sheer bliss! 

Amreena Farmhouse, Karjat is a gem of a place in more ways than one. It is located in the rural area of Avalas in Karjat Taluka, District Raigarh, Maharashtra. Follow this helpful photo guide. It is isolated in the sense that it is some distance from the main town of Karjat, but in no way is it some secluded place, though. There are homes adjoining it and helpful locals to provide directions to wherever you are heading from there. The house itself is not only pretty and charming with its joyous colours that give happy vibes, but is a well-designed one with useful features. Enjoy some unique activities too! Accommodation at Gulmohar Homestay Nashik

Accommodation at Gulmohar Homestay Nashik is really very comfortable. All the knick-knacks and furniture are placed in a way that does not scream of clutter or over the top kitsch. It is, to put it simply, tasteful décor and charming. 

An amazing thing is that, despite the hot month of April, within the house, we never felt the heat at all. No, there is no air-conditioning. The outer room beyond the bedroom has some type of matting on the underside of the roof (see the image below) which is what retains the coolness and the roof of the bedroom is very high as well. There is an air-cooler in the room, though, if you do require it.

The accommodation at the Dhathri Ayurkendra & Panchakarma Centre's resort located at Kayamkulam Kerala is extremely spacious and comfortable. More than that, the views are so stunning that you would hate to stay in your room in the first place!

Accommodation at Annapoorna Farm

In all there are 3 cottages at Annapoorna Farm, named after flowers: Jai, Jui, Mogra, Gulab and Madhumalati. All are simply furnished with curtained windows and a large washroom area. We were delighted to see clothes-hanging rack in the porch area outside the door. This is one essential item since laundry service is not provided and you need to wash and hang out your clothes yourself. It is a pity that such a provision was not available at other farm stays where we went, namely Saguna Baug, Neral and Save Farm, Gholvad.

We had a totally fun-filled trip to Save Farm, Gholvad, never mind the heat! Do go at least once with your entire family for a few days. The accommodation will be well within your budget and total value for money. There are various types of cottages which are as per the number of members in your group.

Large groups can opt for cottages with multiple beds. There are adjoining rooms too in a common-roofed cottage for 2 separate families, as also modern rooms adjacent to each other near the dining area. There is thus plenty of options to choose from to stay at Save Farm, Gholwad.

Saguna Baug accommodation rates and general facilities

As mentioned earlier, paying a casual visit and enjoying a day's picnic at Saguna Baug, Neral is not a bad idea but far better is to stay there for a couple of days. Your stay will definitely be a comfortable one. What's more, it is 100% value for money, with no dent on your wallet.

Saguna Baug Neral Pond House Rooms

Our stay in the Pond House rooms was truly fantastic. It was just heavenly to stay right in the midst of our very own pond and in rooms which were airy, bright and very clean. There are 2 rooms in the Pond House, Nos. 8 and 9. Room 8 has great side and front views, whereas Room 9's side view is the stony path. 

Staying at the Pond House in Saguna Baug Neral

After reading reviews on the Net, we booked the Pond house rooms for the 4 of us. We were glad we did, as we discovered that the 3 independent cottages were near the common dining area so were basically located in a noisy section. The Pond House was far away from this area and relatively secluded & quiet. Note though, that at night it is noisy, with the sound of trains throughout the night.
